ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
As is the case for many photographers, my interest in photography began
in the late 1960's when I got my first " real camera " - a Yashica SLR,
the exact model, I'am not sure of today.. As my enthusiasm grew, my
knowledge and experince keeping pace, photography became a larger and
larger part of my life. Capturing a moment and seeing that moment
recreated in the darkroom was nothing short of magic. And that magic
kept my interest alive, through an engineering career and the evolution
of photography from film to digital.
&
Since
photography cannot, even in its currently advanced state, capture the
full range of light, depth of field and breadth of view that the eye
sees, I try to capture the essence of what I see and experience using
all of the tools in my photographic arsenal. My photographs are an
expression of my joy in observing and capturing nature and people in
all of thier forms.
The pink glow of first light on
the Beach at dawn, the richness of fall colors in the Blue Ridge
Mountains, the overwhelming sense of chaotic motion in the mountain
trout strean, the iridescent color of a Hawk's wings in flight, the
vast chasm of the valley's, the intricacy of detail in a close-up
of a Florida aligator - images that are minute slices of time and
reality, that I can relive and share through my photographs.
My
photography takes me into another dimension, a place of peace and
joy. And it is my hope to convey that feeling to others.
Art that celebrates the natural beauty, culture and history of the life
all around us in extraordinary moments in light, color, and time.
